“Over the last two centuries, about 90 percent of the world's millionaires have been created by investing in real estate.” This statement was made famous by billionaire Andrew Carnegie and it still applies today. There is no faster way to build wealth than real estate. Period!
Unfortunately, when we start thinking about millionaires, our minds naturally go to the entertainers and mega-business owners we often see on television. However, the Global Wealth Report says that the US has 20.27 million millionaires; that’s more than entertainers and business celebs. These millionaires are often small-business owners – plumbers, electricians, and tech workers. They’re “regular” people, like you and I, but guess what they have in common. They invest in real estate! On average they own three properties with a real estate portfolio worth $1.4 million, not including their primary residence.
Guess what else they have in common — 76% of them are caucasian. People of color, especially women in this category, have fallen behind and it’s time to flip the script.
